Kerala's traditional residential architecture — tharavadus, nalukettu houses, and colonial bungalows — represents centuries of accumulated building knowledge. NDVPL provides structural assessment, repair, and sensitive adaptation to make these homes safe and liveable again.
Traditional Kerala houses were built with lime plaster, laterite stone, teak timber, and Mangalore tiles — all materials that perform well for centuries when properly maintained. The challenge today is that many have been poorly repaired with Portland cement, which traps moisture and causes accelerated deterioration.
NDVPL's residential work involves undoing inappropriate repairs, stabilising original structure, and designing careful additions or adaptations that allow families to continue living in these buildings — without destroying what makes them valuable.

We provide structural safety assessments, condition reports, and restoration design for heritage homes across Kerala.
