NDVPL's defining speciality — the structural analysis, design, and conservation of AVD construction using lime mortar, natural hydraulic lime, and traditional stone masonry techniques developed across centuries of South Indian building.
Arches, Vaults, and Domes (AVD) are masonry structural forms that transfer load through compression — requiring no steel or concrete reinforcement when correctly designed and built. In Kerala and across South India, this tradition produced bridges, churches, palaces, and ordinary houses of extraordinary structural efficiency.
NDVPL specialises in understanding how these structures actually work — through geometry, material science, and finite element analysis — and applying that knowledge to both new AVD construction and the conservation of existing ones.

NDVPL is one of the few firms in India with deep practical expertise in AVD structural analysis and conservation.
